Installing and Repairing Fire Sprinklers in Norfolk, VA
The Sprinkler Technician has the responsibility of installing and repairing fixed fire protection systems. This individual must provide exceptional service to both internal and external customers, using their technical experience to complete the job.
The ideal candidate for this position is required to have:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years of experience in fire protection systems.
- Effective oral and written skills
- Good time management
- Good physical health (check Capabilities section for more details)
- Customer service skills,
- Professional dress, speech, and behavior
An equivalent combination of education/training and experience will be considered.
Responsibilities for Fire Sprinkler Technicians in Norfolk, VA
Fire sprinkler technicians don’t just fix fire sprinkler systems. They cover a wide range of skills to help clients understand the importance of fire safety and make them feel confidant with their fire sprinklers.
At Eagle Fire, your responsibilities don’t stop with simple fire sprinkler maintenance. They include:
- Completing the lay out, fabrication, installation, repair, and maintenance of fixed fire protection systems
- Completing all services following manufacturer instructions, related codes/standards, and Company policies and procedures
- Interpreting blueprints and/or working drawings in order to properly install, repair, and maintain systems
- Verifying and/or selects the proper materials for a specific job according to job specifications and tracks and communicates material needs in a timely manner
- Organizing and preparing materials and equipment to be moved to and from the job site
- Identifies necessary changes to proposed work and communicates with Field Supervisor to ensure changes are made appropriately
- Planning sequence of installation or repair to ensure that customer’s activities are not obstructed or adversely affected
- Cutting, threading, and bending pipe using proper tools and machines and joins and secures pipe using proper standards and techniques
- Ensuring that job sites are left clean and neat
- Training Technician Trainees as assigned
- Using authority and making decisions to ensure successful transactions and satisfied customers
- Handling each transaction in a way that positively spreads our Company’s reputation
- Committing to work until obligations are met, which may result in overtime
- Completing continuing education necessary to maintain current certifications and/or licenses as required for the position
- Adhering to ALL Company Standards and Procedures, including the Controlled Substances and Alcohol Standard
- Working safely by using good judgment and by following all Company safety policies and work procedures and uses authority to stop an unsafe act
- Performing other related duties as required
Required Qualifications for Fire Sprinkler Technicians in Norfolk, VA

- Able to travel and stay out of town as needed
- Able to operate and efficiently use measuring instruments and gauges and assorted industry related devices
- Able to work in extremely cold and extremely hot temperatures
- Able to work while exposed to loud sounds and noise levels
